Journalism

Tim Edgar is an accredited journalist and a former member of the UK National Union of Journalists.

 

He trained as a journalist under the UK National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) training scheme with the Express & Star in Wolverhampton and subsequently worked as a journalist for various regional and local newspapers in the UK and the Jersey Evening Post in the Channel Islands.

 

He also spent some time as a TV news reporter and as a freelance journalist for several national newspapers and the Evening Standard in London.

 

He was the Southern Gulf Editor of the Gulf Mirror in Bahrain and was the founding editor of the Gulf News, which he launched in Dubai in 1978.

 

He has written for the Times, Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, Businessweek and a wide range of international trade and technical journals.

 

He is still a freelance journalist and writes for various international newspapers and publications on assignment from Brussels.
